Cluj Shorts filmfest to show Iranian ‘Synthesis’

The ClujShorts International Short Film Festival (ClujShorts ISFF) in Romania has been scheduled to host Iranian short flick ‘Synthesis’.

Directed by Mohammad Towrivarian, the short flick will be in competition with 39 other works from around the world at the 10th edition of the Romanian event.

‘Synthesis’ tells the story of a poor family that cannot pay the medical expenses required for the well-being and treatment of their disabled little son.

The hardships force the father of the family to make an even harder and bitter decision.

Bakhtiyar Panjeie is the star of Towrivarian’s short flick.

The film has already taken part in various film events, including the Santa Fe Film Festival in the US, the Taoba International Youth Film Festival in Georgia and the mice International film festival in Spain, where it won the best foreign language short film award.

The ClujShorts ISFF is an annual event that is held in Cluj Napoca, Romania. The event that is “about love for the short films”, according to the official website of the fest, aims to indicate that a short film needs to be liked for its artistic value, complexity and expressing the vision of its maker.

This year’s edition of the fest is slated to take place in April.
